Building
Faith Foundations
In a plural society, it is critical that we know the
distinctiveness of our Christian faith;
distinctiveness in beliefs and calling. Without a
clear understanding of what we believe, who we are
and what we are called to be, we cannot fully
appreciate the marvelous work of God for our
salvation. We also cannot live out our calling as
God’s people to a world in need of Christ.
Building Faith Foundations (SAC Baptism-Membership
Curriculum) challenges and teaches believers on what
it means to live out their salvation according to
the will and purpose of God for their lives. It
covers the basic tenets of Christianity and what it
means to follow Jesus.
The Curriculum covers 16 topics:
• The Authority of Scriptures
• The Sovereignty of God
• The Uniqueness of Christ – Incarnation: God Came
As Man
• The Uniqueness of Christ – Crucifixion: God on the
Cross
• The Uniqueness of Christ – Resurrection: My Savior
Lives!
• The Uniqueness of Christ – Jesus Will Come Again
• The Gift & Empowering of the Holy Spirit (I): The
Person & Baptism of the Spirit
• The Gift & Empowering of the Holy Spirit (II): The
Fruit of the Spirit & Spiritual
Gifts
• Called To Follow Jesus: Discipleship
• Called to Whole-Hearted Devotion: Worship
• Called to Seek His Presence: Prayer
• Called to Love Others: Christian Service
• Called To Be His Witnesses: Outreach
• Called To Community: The Church, People with a
Mission
• Our Anglican Heritage (I)
• Our Anglican Heritage (II)

Called
To Community
What does it mean to be part of the body of Christ
in the local church? What are our responsibilities
and privileges?
“Called To Community” (SAC Confirmation-Membership
Curriculum) looks at the purpose of our calling and
the basis of our faith. The first 3 lessons teach
what it means to be part of the Cathedral and the
larger Anglican Communion in this part of the world.
They look at our rich Anglican heritage, the mission
of Cathedral and explain the significance of the
Sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion and the
Anglican rite of Confirmation.
The next 3 lessons reiterate our positions on the
basic doctrines of faith; namely the authority of
Scriptures, the Sovereignty of God, the work of
Jesus which is the basis of our salvation and the
role of the Holy Spirit in the lives of believers.
The lessons state what we believe and why we believe
what we believe.
The last 4 lessons look at our calling as God’s
people and what it means for us to reflect God’s
love in our relationships with others in the Church.
The lessons challenge us to take seriously our part
in God’s Kingdom work in the community at Cathedral.
