Synopsis:
(This talk was held on 27 Apr 2010)
Christians in Singapore live in a multi-racial and multi-religious society. In
this religiously plural society Christians are called to be witnesses of God's
saving love in Jesus Christ. How can Christians fulfill their unique role as
God's witnesses in a society where many different faith communities live side by
side without being insensitive or offensive to others? This talk examines some
of these important issues, and seeks to answer the following important
questions:
1. How should Christians understand other religious beliefs?
2. What does it mean to love our neighbor from another faith community?
3. Should Christians be engaged in dialogue with people of other faiths?
4. What is the main goal of inter-faith dialogue?
5. What does responsible Christian witness look like in a multi-religious
society?
