The Faith of the Patriarchs
19/2 11/3 (4 Tues 7:30pm @ PHA-B)
Rev Les Wheeldon
Someone said, "Great faith is not the faith that walks always in the light and
knows no darkness, but the faith that perseveres in spite of God's seeming
silences
" The bible is full of ordinary men and women whose faith is seen in
their obedience and trust in God in their daily lives.
The course will look at 4 bible men of faith and what we can learn from their
inspiring examples.
Abraham the seven blessings of Abraham. What are these blessings and how we
too inherit these blessings?
Isaac the beloved son and his bride. Isaac is a type of Christ and his life
tells us much about Christ's death, resurrection, and the winning of the bride,
the Church. A beautiful and inspiring story for believers today.
Jacob meets his match! Jacob was a deceiver but was eager to be blessed at
the same time. Only when he met his match did his life come to a blessed
submission.
Joseph the triumphs of Joseph. Joseph suffered much, yet never complained
but readily submitted to God's will. Like Jesus, God highly exalted him, and by
him saved the then known world from famine. The story is full of rich insights
into the love of God in Christ.
