Disciples a Few at a Time
29/3 & 30/3 (Thurs & Fri 7:30pm – 9:30pm) & 31/3
(Sat 9am-1pm)
Venue:
Cathedral New Sanctuary
Dr Greg Ogden
The Seminar will look at the three
‘M’s’ of Discipleship; the missional mandate, the biblical model and the tested
method. Dr. Ogden will address:
A.
The Missional Mandate: Based on
Why has disciple-making become again the discussion about
the mission of the church?
How would you measure or rate the church’s effectiveness
in making disciples?
Have we made an unbiblical distinction between being a
disciple and being a Christian? Can you be a Christian without being a
disciple?
What is a disciple? One who…goes…to all nations;
one who is baptized into the life of the triune God, and one who is
being taught to obey all that Jesus commanded.
B.
The Biblical Model:
Why did Jesus focus on a few?
How did Jesus go about making disciples?
How does Jesus model inform how we make disciples today?
C.
The Tested Method: Three Necessary Elements
Rooted in relationships
Leads to multiplication
Creates the environment of transformation
