CATHEDRAL MEMBERSHIP
Welcome
We warmly welcome you to St.
Andrew’s Cathedral and we praise God for your
desire to be a committed member of the Church. The
Pastoral Staff will be glad to introduce
themselves to you and to help you assimilate into
the life and community in St. Andrew’s Cathedral.
Membership Criteria and
Expectations
Those who apply to be admitted
into the membership at St. Andrew’s Cathedral must
subscribe to the Church’s doctrines, accept the
Anglican rites and abide by the Cathedral ethos
and membership expectations. As an applicant you
are strongly encouraged to go to the following
websites to know who we are, what we believe and
what we do in the
Diocese of
Singapore in general and in St Andrew’s
Cathedral in particular.
A member of the Cathedral Church
is:
1. A regular worshipper at one of
the Services in Cathedral.
2. Baptised and confirmed as an
Anglican.
For
confirmed applicants from other Anglican
churches you need to attend at least 5 lessons
of either the Building Faith Foundation Course
or the Called to Community Course to familiarise
yourself with the beliefs, ethos and ministries
of the Cathedral Church. To make St Andrew’s
Cathedral your spiritual home it is important
for you to know what we believe/do and why we
believe/do what we believe/do. The pastoral
staff will advise you on the lessons to attend
based on your background.
Applicants who have never been through any
baptism preparation programme will find the
Building Faith Foundation course helpful in
strengthening their faith foundation.
3. A humble servant in one of the
many ministries and also be part of a small group
(cell / discipleship / bible study / ministry
group, etc).
4. A tithing member of the Church
as the tithe is a biblical outward sign of our
commitment to God’s work in and through the local
Church.
