1st Time Caroling
for LYnC

14 January 2005

On the 24th and 25th of
December, 2005, the LYnC Caroling Team went out to spread God’s word through
singing at Bishopgate, Garden Hotel, and then the 9am Service at St Andrew's
Cathedral.
All of us in the caroling team had fun preparing for our performances, and
heading the entire thing was Dara and Denise, who both worked extremely hard to
ensure that all of us carolers knew what to do!
Practices were held after LYnC, and we had intensive caroling practice in the
week right before our performances. Practice wasn’t simply singing, it was
giving to the Lord what little we could offer Him by using our voices. We sang
songs that carried the wonderful Christmas message, songs like Silent Night, Joy
to the World, Mary’s boy Child Medley, O Holy Night, and a few others too.
After grueling practices, we really praise God for pulling us through everything
and using us to bless others. Dressed, in an all white outfit for the girls, and
a white shirt and black pants for the guys, we left the Cathedral on Saturday
and took a chartered bus to Bishop’s gate. After performing for Mr. Robin Tan
and his family, we had light refreshments there which they kindly provided, and
left for Garden Hotel soon after. Upon reaching garden hotel, we were ushered on
stage, where we began our performance again.
All of us had a wonderful time, and the singing was wonderful, especially with
Timothy Ong and Timothy Huang, who both sang solos for our performances. All
Glory to God, AMEN?!
On Sunday, we woke up really early to perform at the eight am breakfast and the
nine am congregation, dressed in green and red for the spirit of Christmas. All
in all, it was definitely an extremely blessed experience, and we would like to
thank everyone for helping and praying for us, because Christmas really is a
time to spread God’s everlasting love around. :D Dap
