One of the main concerns as youths is to cope with the demands of
schoolwork. LYnC study group started with the hope of providing a
place to allow youths to do their mugging, revision, studying…
basically, anything to do with academic work. The study group is
also a platform for existing LYnC youths to evangelize and reach out
to their teenage friends through invitations to the study group.

The study groups had its humble beginnings with a few youths coming
each week to study before fellowship starts at 3pm. In term 3 this
year, many of them needed guidance for their common tests, prelims
and end-of-year examinations. We thank God for His provision of
tutors from Young Adults and the older youths from LYnC who stepped
forward to tutor the youths in various subjects. We see God’s hand
at work in weaving the study group together and the opportunities to
deepen fellowship and relationships among the youths.
During this period, there were many instances when youths will
appear at the study groups at short notice, yet suitable tutors were
readily available to help them in specific subjects. There was one
Saturday when a youth arrived for study group at 11am, seeking help
for her Chinese homework. By God’s grace, one young adult arrived at
the same time, and she was readily proficient in Chinese to tutor
this youth.
The Lord has also blessed the results of many of these teenagers. In
one particular testimony, a youth improved on her POA (Principals of
Accounts) results by leaps and bounds after attending the study
groups. The amazing part was, no one has helped her in this subject,
but she simply decided to commit the time before the 3pm fellowship
to study and do some self-study on the subject.
All glory to God in the highest!
