“Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.”- Hebrews 11:1

The most basic element of prayer is faith. To have faith in what you are praying for, and to have faith that God will help you in times of need. The LYnC intercession team takes prayer very seriously, and considers a true and sincere prayer from the heart a very important factor while praying. We believe that anyone, and everyone can pray, and that it doesn’t matter whether your English is good, or whether you have perfect pronunciation. What matters most, and what only matters is that you, yes you, have a heart for God, a heart to pray, and more importantly, a sincere desire to reach out and pray for the people.

It is indeed very important to dedicate anything, and everything we do to God before carrying it out. This is where prayer comes in. The intercession team would meet up every Saturday at 2.30pm to gather in a group to pray for the service, and to dedicate the whole youth meeting - which include the worship, speaker/cell, and also for the youth of LynC, to God, to commit everything into God’s hands and to invite Him to be Lord over everything we do. Every week, a member of the intercession team would go up during service to do a short intercession time for any prayer requests or needs anyone might have. However, this is not compulsory for everyone in the intercession team, especially if you are unwilling to do so as of yet. What is more important is that you can join us in a time of prayer before the service, and that you have a good relationship and a strong walk with God.

Prayer is not only about asking God for help in your times of need. It is also about thanking and praising God for all His faithfulness and for everything He has done for us. Prayer is about thanksgiving. Prayer is not only about having faith, but being faith. Prayer is a time where you can lay out all your burdens and worries to God, and to know that He will aid you in times of need. When you pray, you are communicating with God, and just like how you communicate with any of your friends, not only do we talk to God, we must also remember to listen to Him, to listen to what He wants to tell us, and to obey what He has to say. Prayer is a two-way relationship. God doesn’t seek for flowery or lyrical language when you pray, and neither does He fancy a superficial prayer. All He wants, and all He desires of is a prayer from the heart. A prayer from a humble heart, whose only heart’s desire is to give Him thanks, and to lift up the burdens of his/her heart up to God. And that’s all God’s seeking, that’s all the LYnC intercession team is asking for. You. And your heart for Daddy God. =)

So if you feel your heart beating even as you read this. If you know you have a burden to intercede for others, and a desire to pray not only for LYnC, but also for everyone out there, and if God is calling you now, if God is knocking on your door now, come, open the door and take the step to join a ministry. God can’t wait to fill your cup, all you have to do is to take the step of faith and open the lid, to allow His love and anointing to fill your cup overflowing.
