 LEGACY,
the Family Life Ministry of St. Andrew’s Cathedral, seeks
to build strong marriages and God-fearing families in the
Cathedral, which is important for the vitality and health
of the church-community.
We need
to disciple the family, because when we disciple the
family, we also disciple the church and nations for
Christ.
Passing
on a legacy of faith to children is an incredible
privilege God gives to parents. We are not only to tell
our children what we believe, but to show them how to make
faith in God part of their everyday life. There is no more
important task for parents than passing on the Christian
faith to our children. We need to spiritually shape the
next generation and raise them up to be faithful men and
women who love and serve God.
We have
been given a biblical mandate to transfer faith in the
Lord Jesus Christ from generation to generation. The
transfer of faith to the next generation i.e. our children
and spiritual children is of utmost importance and
responsibility to us which we must fulfill.
LEGACY aims to provide a loving
community and platform for families to encourage one
another, share experiences, care for and minister to one
another. Families can learn and gain Biblical insights
from pastors, family life educators, counselors etc. who
will share on how to build strong and God-fearing families
in the church.
LEGACY is for every family of St.
Andrew's Cathedral, ranging from the newly married to
those with young children, tweens or teens.
One
must not be mistaken that LEGACY is only for families that
need help. LEGACY is much more! LEGACY exists to offer a
conducive environment for families to exchange ideas, bond
through shared experiences and journey together to
transfer faith to future generations. Exciting and helpful
talks will be organised to impart practical insight and
provide Biblical handles that can be applied to family
life.
Families can learn and be enriched by being
involved in lively discussions in small groups that follow
the talks. The small groups will be led by LEGACY Mentors
/ Facilitators. |
