Frequently Asked Questions

1. What Church is this?
It is a daughter-church of St. Andrew’s Cathedral and hence, an Anglican Church under the Diocese of Singapore.

2. What kind of a Church is this?
2.1 It is a New Testament Church committed to fulfilling the Great Commission and aspiring to portray the Greatest Commandment.

2.2 It hopes to be like the Church in the Book of Acts.

2.3 It is a Church without walls or a building but it shall be a family or a community.

2.4 It shall be a family-friendly Church with an inter-generational character.

3. What is the ethos or culture of this Church?
3.1 It will underline the restoration of Biblical Literacy, that is, knowing and understanding the Bible, systematically taught, correctly interpreted and conscientiously applied.

3.2 It will emphasise a return to True Spirituality and Devotional Disciplines, that is, seriously pursuing godliness and walking in the Spirit after the ways of God and His Word.

3.3 It will pursue a renewal of the Church as a Communion of the Saints or a Community of Believers, that is, that the Church is the fellowship or a network of relationships of God’s people in the love of Christ.

3.4 It will focus on a revival of Personal Discipleship and Fruitfulness, that is, for each Believer to aspire to be
(a) a witness for Jesus Christ by word and by works;
(b) a worshipper after God’s own heart;
(c) a watchful intercessor and prayer warrior;
(d) a worker of God in the power of the Holy Spirit; and finally.
(e) a Word-centred practical Christian lifestyle in the Church and in the World.

4. When God does a new thing
4.1 Since the priority is the fulfillment of the Great Commission, therefore, evangelism and discipleship, which is teaching, observing (obeying), and initiation (baptism and Church membership), must be normal, day-to-day, function of the Church.

4.2 Since the Greatest Commandment and the New Commandment are hallmarks of the Church, then the love of God for us and through us must be the character of the Church.

4.3 Since the Church aspires to be like the Church in the Book of Acts, then the New Testament especially the Book of Acts must be the manual and blueprint of this Church.

5. What type of Worship Services will it be?
5.1 Whilst we all have our preferred style of worship, the key is not the style or the form but worship itself. And worship is God-centred, not man-centred or man-made. Therefore, variety, relevance, history, traditions, order, balance, clear focus and spiritual pursuits will be the character of our Worship Services.

5.2 We will seek out a worship style that is biblical and Anglican, sensitive to the things of God and sensible in order and form, contemporary and reflective of the nature of true worship of God.

5.3 All other elements will have to be according to what is possible, applicable and appropriate to our situation in a venue which is not designated as a Church premise.

6. Are there Sunday School classes for children?
We have Sunday School classes every 1st and 3rd Sundays and Praise! Kids (Children’s Church) every 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month.
