WELCOME
NOTES
Being a young adult is a most challenging
and exciting phase of life; it also
happens to us only once in our lifetime!
During this phase of life, our long term
goals and destiny in life are often shaped
and conceived. It is therefore important
that Christian young adults should
(collectively) submit themselves to the
love and discipline of our Father God at
this point of their lives.
I encourage all young adults in the
cathedral to join the YA Ministry, and
allow God to shape and build your lives
together, to the glory of the Lord Jesus
Christ. You will be blessed.
Shalom,
Pastor Kuan Kim Seng

Young
adulthood is filled with many pursuits
that take up our time and attention,
namely education and studies, work issues
and career, relationships and life
partner, lifestyles and finance issues,
etc. Much wisdom is needed in handling our
life as a young adult well. Much guidance
is required in charting our spiritual
purpose and direction in life. At the
Cathedral YA ministry, we seek to build up
young adults in spiritual maturity to be
strongly anchored to the rock faithfully
committed to Christ, spiritually rooted in
God’s Word and regularly challenged to
live our lives differently and
significantly as salt and light in the
world.
Together with other young adults in
friendship and community, we welcome you
to join us in this journey as we seek to
fulfill and live out God’s purposes in our
lives.
Come join us and allow God to work in us.
Life will never be the same again.
In Christ,
Pastor John Lin

INTRODUCTION
Who
we are:
We are young adults aged between 21 to 35
who desire to fulfill the Great Commission
in our lives (Matthew 28:18-20). We
believe in living life with passion,
purity and purpose, and running this
spiritual race together.
Brief
history:
The
YA ministry is a Cathedral-wide fellowship
of young adults (YA). It first started in
2003 under the purview of the 9.30am
English service. Conceptualized and led by
Ds June tan, a core group of lay leaders
was mobilized to initiate and start the YA
ministry. The first YA meeting was held on
15 September 2003. One significant event
in 2004 was the running of Alpha course
which drew in many YA. We encourage YA
from across the various congregations of
the Cathedral, to meet and grow
spiritually together.

Vision:
A People of Passion, Purity, Purpose
Mission:
“All authority on earth and in heaven has
been given to me. Therefore go and make
disciples of all nations, baptizing them
in the name of the Father and of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them
to obey everything I have commanded you.
And surely I am with you always, to the
very end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20

knowing, loving and serving God through
worship, testimonies, bible teaching and
a time of sharing and fun-filled
fellowship. In the YA calendar we have
the annual YA Retreat, Bible teaching,
fellowship evenings, outreach &
evangelism as well as other activities
where we can come together and put our
faith into practice in obedience and
commitment to Christ. Interested? Come
join us! See you soon!
