PROGRAMME FOR ACTIVE LEARNING (PAL) THROUGH TCHOUKBALL

PAL is a Ministry of Education programme that aims to encourage active learning from 2011. Using PAL as a framework, CITY collaborates with schools to facilitate the development of the students through learning and help them develop social emotional competencies such as self-awareness, social awareness, self-management, relationship management skills and responsible decision-making, through sports and particularly Tchoukball, which is an exciting new sport.

Tchoukball is the fastest handball sport, which combines the pace and excitement of handball and volleyball. It is the latest sport offering in our stable of school sports programmes which CITY offers to our Befriender schools.

Currently, seven of our CITY staff are certified coaches with the International Tchoukball Federation (FITB) ‘C’ licence. This means that these CITY staff are registered coaches authorised to conduct sports workshops for schools via Tchoukball.

The objective for these workshops is more than just about imparting sports skills, it is learning the basic values in life through Tchoukball in a fun and interactive way.
