The 9.00 am Sunday School provides ministry for children from 3 to 14 years old. Our goal is to help the children discover Jesus in a personal way. We want them to grow up knowing that Christianity isn’t just about going to church on Sunday mornings, but it is an exciting relationship with the living God that impacts our lives everyday.
Every Sunday, except for the first Sunday of the month, when the Sunday School has its own children’s worship, the children join the congregation during praise and worship and go to their various classes before the sermon. On the last Sunday of the month, Friendship Sunday, the children join their parents in the main Service. While the children experience a meaningful time of worship with their parents, a smooth transition is introduced whereby they join the main service as they grow into adulthood.
Another goal of our Sunday School is to nurture the children to function as part of the larger Body of Christ. As such, we create opportunities for the children to serve in various ministries in the church, namely, lesson reading, ushering and worship. For the 15 to 16 year old youths who have graduated from Sunday School, many commit themselves to serve as teacher aides in the Nursery and Kindergarten classes.
It is our prayer that each one of our Sunday School children will continue to grow in their walk with Christ as they discover for themselves the love and joy of knowing our Lord Jesus Christ.
